המבנה תוכנן על ידי אדריכלי וודס באגוט, האמרלי הוא מגדל מגורים מרהיב בן 33 קומות, שבו 270 דירות יוקרה להשכרה. הפנים הגאומטרי המרהיב מעוצב בצורה אינטליגנטית כדי למקסם את התצפיות באזורי המגורים והאוכל, תוך שמירה על פרטיות בחדרי השינה.

הדירות בעיצוב מחשבה, מהסטודיו ועד לשלוש חדרי שינה באמרלי כוללות חלונות מהרצפה עד התקרה עם וילונות מותאמים ורצפת עץ אגוז רחבה. כל המטבחים כוללים משטחי עבודה מצורפי סיזרסטון עם קו מים, והאמבטיות מעוצבות עם אריחי קרמיקה אלגנטיים באיור הרינגבון. מכונת כביסה/מייבש בוש נמצאת גם בכל דירה.

שירותי המבנה כוללים סלון עבודה/מגורים בקומת הקרקע עם גישה לפלזה ציבורית שעוצבה על ידי אדריכלי סקייפ. מרכז הכושר המתקדם מציע ציוד של לייף פיטנס ופלטון. בקומה ה-9 נמצא סלון הסגנון של האמרלי, סנדק מחבק ואזורי גריל ואוכל חיצוניים. ה"אוברלוק", סקייטלאונג' בקומה ה-33 מציע נופים מרהיבים של קו האופק של מנהטן, גגות ברוקלין והנמל האיקוני של ניו יורק. גם חניית אופניים וחניה ולט מתחת לרצפה זמינים.
